Class III insulator

Class III microbiological safety cabinets, also known as glove boxes, are designed to offer maximum protection for the operator, the environment and the products handled. They are mainly used in Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) laboratories for handling Risk Class IV pathogens, in accordance with World Health Organization guidelines.

These devices feature a totally enclosed, watertight enclosure, equipped with a sloping front window for optimum visibility, and integrated gloves enabling the operator to handle samples without direct contact. Materials are introduced via a transfer airlock fitted with HEPA/ULPA H14 filters, guaranteeing the integrity of the enclosure. The air inside the working chamber is maintained at a negative pressure relative to the outside environment and is filtered through HEPA/ULPA H14 filters before being exhausted, ensuring dynamic and physical protection against contaminants.

This design guarantees a complete physical barrier between the operator and the pathogens or toxic substances handled, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination and ensuring a safe working environment. Class III workstations are essential for applications requiring absolute containment, such as handling highly hazardous substances or carrying out sterility tests.
